Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Good point. That is the 3rd choice.

My main experience with virtual machines (VMs) is 6+ years of Virtualbox Windows VMs and GNU/Linux VMs.
1) Seems less reliable because VMs sometimes fails to boot. But then next time the VM will boot ok.
2) Sometimes window sizing has problems. For...
Let's say you have some consumer legacy software (LS) installed on an old operating system. You want to preserve the legacy software.
The options that come to mind are:
1) have the LS as a virtual machine of the old operating system on a modern computer. Move this VM as you upgrade your...

I disconnected the power supply cables completely and I disconnected the sata cables. Side note: One thing that I didn't mention in the original post is that the case was overly cluttered with power supply cables. Good...
I think I do still have the original power supply. There was nothing wrong with the power supply when I replaced it. I will just have to find the power supply.
the monitor did say something like "entering power saving mode." might have said, "no signal, entering power saving mode."
I would just try it again and tell you what it said. But, I don't like powering the computer off by pressing the power button excessively.
I have read up a bit on protecting a computer that you are not using from dust, moisture, etc.
Wrapping it in a cotton cloth seems like an ok idea. Perhaps a piece of a sheet if it's a desktop computer. But, sometimes it's tough to know if a sheet is 100% cotton. Plus, you might not have a...
I put in a new CR2032 battery that was lying around my place. However, there is no expiration date because package was cut and nothing printed on the battery itself.
The computer is still behaving the same way, though.
Side note: the CMOS battery was quite difficult to get out. However, thin...
