    No, I'm sure you're right about the overall flow, I meant that I'm not getting locked out of my pc, because I know better than to hit Enter 23 times. I use Ctrl to wake it up for exactly this reason. I wonder if switching to HDMI would help. It's on DP now for reasons, but it doesn't HAVE to be.

    I'm talking about my home PC, so no password lockouts. I hit a key or mouse button, it takes about 25 seconds until I see the lock screen. I wake up the monitor manually, then wake up the PC, it takes about 15 seconds. I'm using Displayport.

    Maybe I should turn off sleep on the monitor. it's very annoying, waiting 25 seconds (I've timed it) to get to the lock screen.

    Is this related to why my computer takes noticeably less time to wake up from sleep if I hit a button on the monitor to wake it up before hitting a key to wake up the computer? Because that's really annoying, it's like a ten second difference.

    I was mad about it 20 years ago, which is how long it's been around. It's assymetrical. It turns people into an ATM, along with red-light cameras and all the other things. And now with Flock, they can follow you around. I don't see how anyone can be so blase about it.
